Original Paintings - Dia de los Muertos Inspired

Having grown up in the Southwest, this region has had a profound influence on my art. Southwestern and Mexican culture, history and traditions have shaped me as a person and what I do as an artist.  The colors of Mexico and its pop culture have made their way into my paintings. I love the graphic images of Posada and the hope of an afterlife filled with people doing what they loved most in life. US pop culture also has made its way into my art with its over-the-top portrayals of rockabilly hoodlums and wrestling roustabouts. My paintings are in essence a celebration of life and living, and color is my main focus. Using bright colors energize me and hopefully the viewer.
